The draw for the third preliminary round of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League was held today, Monday.
Turkish club Fenerbahce, led by veteran Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, will face Dutch club Feyenoord.
Fenerbahçe, who finished second in the Turkish league, will travel to Rotterdam for the first leg on August 5 or 6, 2025, and then host the second leg in Istanbul on August 12.
The winner will advance to the qualifying round next August and secure a place in the lucrative 36-team league stage.
In other matches between teams who have not won their domestic league, Portuguese club Benfica will play against French club Nice, which includes Egyptian international Mohamed Abdelmonem, while the winner of the second preliminary round match between Salzburg and Brann will host Club Brugge in the first leg.
Benfica and Salzburg, who play the first leg against Brann in Norway next Wednesday, will start their European seasons early after returning from the Club World Cup in the United States.
Benfica's season ended on June 28, with a loss to eventual champions Chelsea in the round of 16, while Salzburg played until June 26 in the group stage.
In the non-champions league playoffs, the winner between Rangers and Panathinaikos will advance to face Viktoria Plzen or Servette. The second qualifying round concludes on July 30.
