Flamengo qualified for the Club World Cup Round of 16 after topping their group with 7 points, while Bayern Munich reached the same round as runners-up in Group C with 6 points.
The two teams will compete for a place in the quarter-finals in their first meeting, with the winner of the Flamengo-Bayern Munich match set to face the winner of the Paris Saint-Germain-Inter Miami match.
Bayern Munich is the second-highest scoring team in the Club World Cup so far, with 12 goals.
Both teams are participating in the Club World Cup for the third time. Flamengo previously participated in the global tournament in 2019 and 2022 but did not win, while Bayern participated in 2013 and 2020 and won twice.
