Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool FC, spoke about his time at Chelsea since the beginning of his career in the Premier League.
"I remember my first game, I think it was against Newcastle, and I was attacking from the wing and I felt a strong tackle," Salah said in statements reported by the club's website. "I felt like saying to myself: 'Oh my God, how am I going to survive here?'"
"So the first thing I learned is, 'OK, now I need to be physically strong, I need to go to the gym more, I need to recover more and adapt to the game,'" he continued.
He added: "I still say that was the most important period of my life, when I moved to Chelsea, because when I started to struggle there, I said to myself: Okay, what now? Are you going to be an average player or do you want to be a really special player?"
He concluded: "This was a key point for me, I started reading a lot and watching a lot of YouTube videos to also help me change my behavior, my mindset and everything."
Mohamed Salah, 32, has scored 244 goals in all competitions for the Reds so far, including 183 in the Premier League, more than any other player for the club.
In addition to his two Premier League titles, Salah has won the Golden Boot three times and the Playmaker Award once, and is on track to win both awards again later this May.
Al-Masry is only three goals away from fourth place in the tournament's top scorers list, since its inception in 1992.
