Thousands of Paris Saint-Germain fans flooded onto the Allianz Arena pitch, many taking home pieces of the goal and pitch as mementos of that unforgettable night after winning the Champions League, Reuters reported.
Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Inter Milan 5-0 in a one-sided final in Munich, and after watching their team lift the trophy, large numbers of fans flooded behind the goal onto the pitch, while stewards struggled to maintain order.
The police formed a cordon to prevent them from going beyond the penalty area, just as Paris Saint-Germain did with Inter Milan for most of the match during an absolutely dominant performance.
Many fans began tearing down the goal net, while some tore up parts of the pitch, while others decided to celebrate with the players who had just received the trophy.
Fans weren't the only ones who wanted to take home a memento of the greatest night in their club's history, as Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Joao Neves was also seen cutting off part of what was left of the goal net.
Paris Saint-Germain fans made noise throughout the match and before kick-off, cheering their team on to victory. After the final whistle, they unveiled a huge banner in tribute to Luis Enrique's daughter, Xana, who passed away in 2019.
