Ferland Mendy

Spanish newspaper AS revealed that Ferland Mendy is the most prominent player threatened with leaving Real Madrid, following the signing of Alvaro Carreras from Benfica.

With the arrival of Álvaro Carreras, who is expected to be a key player next season, Real Madrid is overstretched at left-back. Therefore, a sale has become imperative, and it will likely involve Mendy and Garcia. Garcia has been strongly linked with Milan in recent weeks, but a deal seems unlikely.

For this reason, AS newspaper reported that Real Madrid and its coach, Xabi Alonso, agreed not to allow Garcia to leave this summer.

The 25-year-old is considered an excellent candidate to compete with Carreras for the left-back position, having impressed club officials over the past 12 months.

This decision means that Mendy is the player who is likely to leave, despite the fact that he only signed a new three-year contract with Real Madrid a few months ago.

The 30-year-old is no longer reliable and if he wants to play regularly next season, he will have to look for a move away.

It's quite logical for Real Madrid to prioritize keeping Garcia, and Mendy's departure would further reduce the squad's average age. Furthermore, his injury record is worrying, so there are doubts about his ability to play throughout the season.

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will be able to find a new club for Mendy, but they will need to if they are to make another deal this summer.
