Italian club AC Milan officially announced on Thursday the signing of left-back Pervis Estupinan from English club Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Ecuadorian international, who became the first player from his country to play for Milan, joins on a contract that runs until 2030 and will wear the number 2 shirt.
The 27-year-old would have faced increased competition at Brighton after signing Maxime de Kuyper from Club Brugge - who is three years his junior - to join Igor, Tariq Lamptey, Ferdi Kadioglu and Jack Hinshelwood as options in the role.
Milan sold their first-choice left-back Theo Hernandez to Saudi club Al-Hilal in July after finishing eighth in Serie A last season.
Estupinan made 104 appearances for Brighton over three seasons after joining from Villarreal.
Despite suffering a muscle injury at the start of the year, Estupinan made 36 appearances in all competitions, including 30 in the league, as Brighton finished eighth.
The left-back has made 48 appearances for Ecuador's senior national team, captaining them against Peru last month in a World Cup qualifier.
