Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone expressed his admiration for Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, saying he loves him very much and wishes him success in his new role as Brazil national team manager, after his tenure with Real Madrid ends at the end of this season.
The Brazilian Football Confederation announced the signing of Ancelotti to lead the Samba team, following the end of his contract with Real Madrid.
"I'm not going to get into this because it's a decision that concerns his club and himself," Simeone said in a press conference following his team's morning training session. "As a coach, I think that all of us current coaches in La Liga, including those who aren't working, have tremendous admiration for Ancelotti for all the work he's done."
He added: "Not only because of what he did with Real Madrid, and how he dealt with what he had to deal with at Real Madrid, but also for everything he did in his sporting career."
Simeone concluded: "I admire him, and he knows that. I told him so. I love him very much, and of course I wish him all the best."
