Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool striker, confirmed that he urged Paris Saint-Germain players to win the Champions League title after the two teams' Champions League match.
Paris Saint-Germain knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League in the round of 16, progressing to the quarter-finals before knocking out Aston Villa and then meeting Arsenal in the semi-finals.
"To be honest, Paris Saint-Germain played a great first leg. We were very lucky. Alisson played the best game of his career with Liverpool," Salah said in statements reported by the French network "Foot Mercato."
“They were very unlucky, then they came to Anfield and we were the unlucky ones because we hit the post two or three times and they made one or two saves off their line, so we were unlucky too. It was their day and I shook hands with the players after the game and said: ‘Congratulations, go on and win the title!’”
He concluded: "That's it. We were in great physical condition throughout the season, and in March alone, we suffered a slight decline, and we faced the best team in Europe at the moment."
Paris Saint-Germain will host Arsenal this evening, Wednesday, at the Parc des Princes stadium, in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.
Paris had won the first leg away from home 1-0.
