Liverpool are preparing to begin contract negotiations with Colombian Luis Diaz, who has confirmed his desire to remain at Anfield for many years to come, after the Reds decided the futures of stars Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
The 28-year-old Colombian's contract expires in 2027, but he has become a priority after his brilliant 2024-25 season, scoring 17 goals, his best scoring rate with Liverpool since joining from Porto in 2022 for €54 million.
Diaz expressed his loyalty to the club, saying: "If it were up to me, I would stay here forever."
Liverpool plans to begin talks after the end of the season on May 25, 2025.
The player is seeking to increase his salary, which currently does not place him among the top 10 highest-paid players on the team, compared to the salaries of Salah and Van Dijk (more than £350,000 per week).
