Liverpool consider signing Rodrigo from Real Madrid

Rodrigo

Liverpool are considering a move for Real Madrid's Rodrygo, who has lost his starting place under Xabi Alonso, but the Reds will only make a serious move if one of their current strikers leaves Anfield.

Alonso takes over at the Santiago Bernabéu from Carlo Ancelotti, who had previously placed his trust in Rodrygo. The striker's participation has decreased significantly, and he has lost his starting place over the summer.

Arsenal are also keen to bolster their attack with the Brazilian, but are close to signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea, and it remains to be seen whether that will dampen their interest in Rodrygo, which could open the door for Liverpool if they need to fill a gap in their squad.

RMC Sport reports that Liverpool will consider a move, but only if they lose Luis Diaz this summer.

The Colombian is still linked with new clubs, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich close to signing him, but they are keen to keep the winger despite his contract coming to an end.

Diaz has two years left on his contract and has been open about his negotiations with Anfield officials, but so far no agreement has been reached on his future.

Earlier this week, Real Madrid suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-finals, with Rodrygo watching from the bench for his fifth consecutive match.

Real Madrid will not let him leave cheaply, and Brazilian newspaper UOL Sport reported that they want offers of around €100 million before considering selling him.
