The Egyptian Pyramids FC team won the 2024-2025 CAF Champions League title for the first time in its history, defeating South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns.
Pyramids FC defeated Sundowns 2-1 on Sunday at the June 30 Stadium in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final, bringing the aggregate score to 3-2. Pyramids FC had drawn 1-1 with Sundowns last week at the South African club's stadium.
Pyramids' goals were scored by Fiston Mayele (24) and Ahmed Sami (56), while Sundowns' goal was scored by Ikram Reiners in minute (75).
This is the first continental title in Pyramids' history, and its second overall.
Pyramids FC became the fourth Egyptian club to win the CAF Champions League title, after Ismaily SC, Al Ahly SC, and Zamalek SC.
Pyramids FC is scheduled to meet Morocco's Renaissance Berkane in the CAF Super Cup, after the latter won the CAF Confederation Cup.
