Al-Ahly of Egypt thrashed its guest, Haras El-Hodoud, 5-0 on Sunday evening at Cairo International Stadium, in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League group stage.
This season's Egyptian Premier League was held differently than in previous seasons, with the first round featuring 18 teams, before the second round was divided between the top nine teams competing for the title, and the ninth-to-eighth-placed teams competing to avoid relegation.
Al-Ahly's five goals were scored by Taher Mohamed Taher, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Wissam Abu Ali, Hussein El-Shahat, and Mohamed Hany, in the 9th, 27th, 55th, 73rd, and 90+4th minutes.
This is Al-Ahly's second consecutive victory under the interim technical leadership of Emad El-Nahhas, who took over from Swiss coach Marcel Koller.
With this victory, Al-Ahly raised its score to 46 points, in second place, behind Pyramids FC, which leads with 47 points.
